ACS signs a $28 million contract extension with Texas Health and Human Services Commission

ACS (NYSE: ACS), a provider of business process and information technology outsourcing solutions, announced today that it has signed a one-year, $28-million extension to its contract with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) supporting the State's Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
The contract, initially awarded to ACS in September, 1999, included provisions allowing two one-year extensions at the option of the HHSC. Under the contract, ACS provides member application, eligibility determination, enrollment, call center services, correspondence, premium calculation and collection, and website services to support the State's CHIP program. ACS' INFORM(TM) is a menu-driven, client-server system that supports these processes using an intuitive graphical user interface.
